Treasurer
Service Commitment
- Serves a minimum of two consecutive years
- Attends all monthly Board Meetings and provides financial updates, including current bank balance and budget-to-actual comparisons
- Presents financial updates at General Membership Meetings, as needed
- Attends at least one Regional PTA Meeting annually
Summer Planning & Transition
- Meets with Co-Presidents (late June) to draft the proposed annual budget and establish the financial plan
- Reviews prior-year financials and audit results to inform planning
Core Responsibilities
- Maintains the PTA budget and tracks all income and expenses on a monthly basis
- Collects PTA mail from the school office weekly and manages the PTA lockbox
- Authorizes, prepares, and distributes reimbursement checks within two weeks
- Partners with Co-Presidents to align spending with budget priorities
- Provides budget updates to VPs, Committee Chairs, and Admin/Staff when requested
- Ensures completion of the previous year’s financial audit
- Files incorporation renewal
- Completes all other filings to maintain good standing
- Mentors new Treasurer to ensure a smooth transition and financial stability
