Quick-Read Instructions

• The calendar is divided into three-day booking blocks.

• Each block costs $30 (approximately $10 per day).

• Booking and payment are completed together on the PTA website.

• After booking, confirm you’ve read the rules, choose your design, and purchase supplies.

• On the first day of your block, begin by painting a solid base coat over the previous design and allow it to dry.

• Once finished, clean up the area completely—the next painter will cover your design.

Booking Blocks Explained

Booking blocks are arranged as follows:

• Sunday – Tuesday (ends at 4:00 PM)

• Tuesday at 4:00 PM – Thursday at 4:00 PM

• Thursday at 4:00 PM – Saturday

This structure allows:

• At least two full days of viewing for each design

• An additional full school day before repainting begins

• Fair access and visibility for all participants

Painting may not begin until 4:00 PM on the first day of your block.

Painting the Boulder

• You are responsible for painting over the previous design using a base coat (your background color works best).

• A small paint roller provides the best coverage.

• Allow adequate drying time before adding your design.

• The surface is uneven—simple, bold designs work best.

• Helpful items may include:

  • Step stool

  • Knee pad or towel

  • Umbrella or pop-up tent (for weather)

  • Portable fan to speed drying

Rules & Guidelines

• You must supply all painting and cleanup materials, including paint, brushes, trays, water cups, drop cloths, trash bags, stencils, etc.

• Only outdoor, water-based acrylic craft paint is allowed.

  • ❌ No oil-based paint

  • ❌ No spray paint or paint sprayers

• You must fully cover the previous design.

• Painting anywhere on school property other than the boulder is prohibited.

• All supplies and trash must be removed from school grounds after painting.

• Use a drop cloth, cardboard, or newspaper to protect the surrounding area.

• Only the front face of the boulder may be painted. Do not paint the top, sides, or back.

• Artwork must be school-appropriate and free of inappropriate language or imagery.

• This area is monitored by school cameras—please be mindful.

Weather Policy

Booking the boulder is a rain or shine commitment. Please check the forecast before reserving your block. As this is a PTA fundraiser, there are no cancellations or refunds due to weather.
