Campus Grounds Committee
Summer Planning & Transition
- Meets with Co-Presidents (early July) to walk the campus and assess needs
- Begins planning and promoting the Back-to-School Campus Cleanup Kickoff, held in late July
Core Responsibilities
- Identifies areas across campus in need of beautification, maintenance, or minor repair
- Coordinates 3 seasonal campus workdays (summer, fall, and spring)
- Attends all campus cleanup events (typically 3-4 hours on Saturdays or Sundays)
- Utilizes designated team management software, keeping Grounds Leads and Co-Presidents unilaterally informed and aligned
- Submits event recaps (photos and summaries) to VP of Communications for newsletter publication
- Attends Board Meetings in the months leading up to to and following each Campus Cleanup event
- Reports to Co-Presidents
Team Leadership (4 Leads)
- Oversees designated campus zone:
- Front Campus Lead
- Playground Lead
- Gardens & Deck Lead
- Parking Lots & Sidewalks Lead
Event Planning & Execution
- Campus Cleanup Planning (at least one month prior to each event):
- Develops goals and project lists
- Inventories supplies and tools
- Promotes events across PTA communication channels
- Campus Cleanup Execution (day of each event):
- Sets up tools and supplies
- Oversee designed campus zone
- Welcomes and directs volunteers
- Ensures proper cleanup and storage of materials
Budget & Projects
- Manages and operates within the assigned budget
- Solicits bids from outside vendors for some projects
- Seeks approval from Co-Presidents and Principal prior to major undertakings
- Advises Co-Presidents on significant or high-cost campus needs for potential escalation to the BES Foundation for funding consideration
